Love Him Though

by Tony Whitaker

Cherry blossom lips
Wide shapely hips

A man’s world

Where the vision

Is everything

The bone china smile
Eyes that magnetize

A man’s world

Where the vision

Is everything

But the day when both grow old
You’ll see true beauty in her soul
She still came to YOU
Even though she knew

A man’s world

Where the vision

Is everything

But don’t worry
He never grows cold
When you show
You love him so
Even though
You’ll always know

A man’s world

Where the vision

Is everything

Author's Note: This one shows the unfortunate, but realistic, side of a man that all women are all too familir with (pardon the dangling preposition).

It is a bit discouraging to NOT have in my physical person that which pleases most men. But, conversely, it's also made things simpler in many ways because I didn't have to wade through the men that would only "love" me for that which pleased their vision. And, we can't forget, the media that shapes what SHOULD please a man, and how many of us could never be that woman. Ack. Nicely done, Tony. Thank you for sharing that perspective!

There is so much truth in this piece, Tony. It was totally refreshing to read such honesty.
