just call me Lola by Maria FrancescaI won't pretend
I'm on your side
as opposed to my own.
There will be no exhibition
of my Sunday manners;
Strings are most definitely attatched,
and there are pages -
no, there are chapters -
of fine print
but the title reads like this:
I want you.
I'm through playing nice -
no more blushing
or beating around whatever.
There will be no withholding here;
I want the sweet parts
and the wicked parts
and the parts you so industriously work to conceal;
I make the rules here
and withholding is definitely not allowed.
So just be a good boy
and resign yourself -
because I'm on my side
and my side always wins;
It's in the rules. 09/15/2007
Author's Note: stole a line here from 'Whatever Lola Wants':
"recline yourself,
'resign yourself'
you're through."

Posted by Tony Whitaker on 09/16/07 at 09:06 AM I think Ray Davies would be proud, although this one does not speak of that persuasion. The power of the honesty, though self-focused, builds to a crescendo. I would love to see this one a little longer holding the hammer ever higher before... |
