Fall Stalls

by Joe Cramer

Fall stalls,

Then never comes

To visit at all.

What has begun

Over and over again.

Summer slows

And then goes

On and on and on.

What is left

As the time slows

Seasons no longer hasten,

Times wasting

As the sun moves

Drifting away from the Earth.

Fall stalls,

Leaves refuse

To leave

The trees.

Author's Note: We actually have two seasons here in North Florida, summer, and more summer.....
