Life's Greatest Moment, Untouched

by Alisa Js

and when does it begin
this life we desired and spoke so often of
reduced to thoughts
safe,
harbored in that secret place
oblivious to reality's brush
that paints our every days,
mangle on
as we trudge along to make our way
life tarries as this old world turns ...

we're no closer now than we ever were
all talk and wishes of,
this great romance
stuck,
here in our minds and soul,
if we do nothing more than simply say
'one day, some how'
'we'll get it right',
oh shit!,
all I see is this ...

slipshod farther past beyond
those necessary steps,
have we lost our will to persevere
and with anguished eyes now gaze
towards dimming hues of horizon's hint
once securely in our view,
what's happened here?
how many attempts do we have left
outside it's dying
inside, I'm raining
light years from my tears ...

Powerful words and images, as always, on lost love and the will to keep on trying... Another wonderful voice Sweet Alisa.
