with sorrow and blame

beyond my grasp to control
stand here, transfixed
bottomless courage, left
gone with the wind
that whispers your name
me, in my sorrows
me, in my shame ...

for not taking that step
pressing my way
regardless of obstacles and delays,
simply watch
as you vanish from sight
and me, too dumbfounded to move
turning a deaf ear to promises made
if I could only believe ...
