A Pint of Dysphoria by Christopher ShinThe humming machine
breaks all the silence
in my mind.
As lyrics scatter through
the wind and the thoughts
of me become images in
your mind.
Words I don't understand
remind me of all the
darkness in my soul.
Yet you say hope
is on my mind.
How tragic can it
be when you can only
see the darker parts
of humanity.
How frustrating
when the world
can go on with
a twist of fate.
Dysphoria splatters
like a smear in
the shadows of tears.
Blood can barely
keep itself in my
veins as it pulses
through the event
horizon.
Yet all the blinks
in my eyes flicker
for a moment,
and your love is
gone.
All I have is your
thoughts as butterflies
and broken wilted lillies
scatter their dreams on me.
I turn my head again,
and the lyrics that I don't
understand dance around me,
and I turn to you for the
light.
All I can get is your shadows,
and I scream words that
you can understand.
But it's to late.
And the mirage of you
and me are gone forever.
So my mind cries for the
younger me, but you
are wrinkles and harsh eyes.
So let it end early
as the larks and swallows
sing their last songs. 09/09/2007 Posted on 09/09/2007 Copyright © 2024 Christopher Shin
