Forgetting You

by Christopher Shin

Smoke rings dance
around me as it
surounds a bullet
like a donut.

All I can think
is about how
the world has
changed all around me.

My mind is my own,
and love is nothing
new to me.
Bitter is the pill
that coats the broken
hearts.

When time heals all
wounds, yet all
wounds slowly become
a lesson.

A lesson that can
only burn the misery
away in a stack
of broken yous.

So let me go on
as late hours become
early days, but your
memory is added to
all the solitary youth.
