She Was the Snow

by Tony Whitaker

I see her there
but she's not here

She's just a memory
lingering
in
the midnight air

I miss her so
she was the snow
so soft and slow
that made this
man

I miss the walks
the way she talks

But she's the mist
that lies so deep
beneath
these eyes that dared

I miss her so
she was the snow
so soft and slow
that made this
man

Now she's gone
I was the one
who would not care

<And Lord, I miss her so
she was the snow
so soft and slow
that made this
man

Author's Note: Another song. I really enjoy writing music these days. The end of each line has a long pause in the chorus. Just a little song I wrote tonight playing my acoustic. Inspired by Kathy Mattea's "Seeds".

It's beautiful.

See, it's stuff like this that makes me want to get an acoustic guitar and try to learn a little something, because i feel like that's where my own work should head. anyway, great writing, man.

Tony, definitely easy to hear this one in my imagination, though I wish there was a way you could record it and embed the sound. THAT would be so cool!!!! Anyway, I really like it.
