Good Day

by Tony Whitaker

Heaven unfolds its fields
for new souls enter
“irie man”
“gefult gut”
“buon giorno”

voices in a void
you are nothing
you are everything
your reward for
living a life
full of failure
only asking
for another chance

09/04/2007

Author's Note: Being spiritual means learning to deal with anger and failure and gaining a sense of peace... forgiving those who don't.

I believe I like your author's note even better than the poem. Thanks for this wonderful and timely reminder! And g'day to you too!

The simplest grace comes in those moments of peace and forgiveness. Failure is just another part of the journey, the bittersweet morsel that allows us to put down the stones. You've stated it so beautifully here, Tony.

This poem touched me. I would like to think we get another chance too.
