Let Liberty Lie by Meagan GreenLet the world liquor up our lips, swallow-
let it linger inside our libidos and piss
on our egos just long enough to be enlightened
by leviathans disguised as lightness;
faith in the loyal ego above the sky.
The church feeds us wine and we don't ask why,
we're just led by the fibs hid in the letters on old pages.
Lies lay low in the imaginary scenarios,
lifeless lifted by the ever shifting clouds.
Let the lips lick our liberty, eat our faces-
let it list our fears in lines divided by
little magic letters that live inside the lascivious
pleasures which entertain but do not sustain-
lust taking over and lust tickling the river.
The river soon sits still again within intelligence,
and we all die inside the dimensions left concealed.
Lies fester in our little adventures,
most cannot comprehend the other lands outside of them. 08/31/2007
Author's Note: my entry into the "L" poetry contest thing, just kind of happened that way.
