My Heart of Stone

by Sigurdur Haraldsson

I have a heart of stone
or I should say I used to have

It got too constricted in my chest
when I first saw you
a new born life fresh out of the womb

my baby

And my heart of stone
broke, shattered
and the pieces turned to ice

and melted through my eyes

it is the most amazing feeling, is it not? i am not worthy, but i have been blessed with three babies and your words took me back to that instant when i first saw them and knew, beyond any doubt, they held my heart.
