Lying in the Periphery

by Joe Cramer

My words lie in the periphery

Of my life, colorless, lifeless.

Void of any feeling or sentimentality

For that matter.

I end up writing more words

Than I can share.

My words end up

Like marks on a page

(My pent up personal rage!)

I wish that I could write better,

But I can't, so I won't.

I hate it when the words stop working, sort of like when alcohol stops working. Just the hang-over happens. Dang. I mightta just said too much.
