A Daughter Dawned
by Matthew TaylorOne summer day turned as usual into night
Everything here seemed clear and peaceful...
until I sensed concern,
then I would learn..
My son's beloved Melyssa was nowhere to be found!
My heart started to pound..
It sunk into my feet, all my thoughts were..
incomplete!
I wrapped a prayer around my son's heart,
another around my dear Melyssa and her mom.
Please dear Lord , don't her be hurt..
I walked about outside in the yard,
crying very hard....
then it dawned on me...
a daughter dawned, a very piece of my beloved family
might be in danger, not a stranger,
a daughter dawned, on me.
Then we got the news ,
she was alright,
still I trembled from the fright,
but went again before my Lord,
my prayers , as always, were not ignored.
Peace restored, all was right,
but a second daughter dawned on me that night. 08/29/2007
Author's Note: a testimony of faith, and how God answers prayers, my wife and I prayed for her to come our way for years, to give my son a reason, a purpose, and above all love. We refer to her as "the answer" to those prayers. She is such a pleasant part of our lives, we love her as our very own and pray she will be a part of our lives and Ryan's life for as long as they wish. Thank you again dear Jesus for keeping her in your sight, that one scary night.
