The Proper Audience by Jim MooreThey should be almost like taste testers,
The good ones cleansing their palette
Before they go on to savor that next line--
Dividing up sentences like cantaloupe quarters,
Pulling apart sections down to the last orange slice.
It's there, at the core,
Where they'll begin to linger over its distinct flavor--
Delight in the first burst of irony
That leaves them craving more.

Posted by Angela Nuzzo on 08/29/07 at 08:16 AM Very nice, Jim. I think we all crave this kind of audience. Someone who is actually HEARING our words & digesting every syllable. Great use of simile. :) |
