Morality

by Oliver Drewman

The newness of the death we chose today
Belies our greatest violent, despair
The mind erupting causes battle’s fray
Between conviction and corrupt affair
Here stand we in our meditative glance
Half knowing what we do or even why
It seems just fate or even random chance
The truth is hidden ‘neath a pack of lies
The misdirected passion we eschew
Is but an action on our base desires
We cannot do the things we want to do
The crooked nature straightening requires
Who can this soulical crisis resolve?
The one composer, who is all in all

Author's Note: Inspired by Dan. One line borrowed form St. Paul who was inspired by God.
