Promise

by Maria Kintner

You will always have me.

Because I am A Warrior,
they say.

And I am used to putting on my pants,
and standing up straight
in the storm.

My secret is not my hair,
or the treasures of my kingdom.

I do not own knowledge that
transcends fear.

But only that I know your face,
and can close my eyes to see it
in its every angle.

Only that I hear your voice,
and know it when you call me.

You are my essential, and my pieces
fit, because of you.

And you will always have me.

Love is worth it when you find the right one. Great poem.

Into my favorites. so perfect, no ordinary love, but that of a "Warrior", one who knows how to "stand up straight in a storm". And the way you have expressed "But only... you are my essential" yes! I love and feel these line by heart.
