Goin' Fishin'

by Tony Whitaker

Painting pictures with words is what I do
inspiration supplies the scene from a vision of you

Writing words, where’s the melody, so easy to find
when my mind slips to times just the touching of you

Passion from words for others to adore
when those words reflect a memory of the wanting of you

Adoration as bait through words set the hook
and the reader, like I, feel the pull of you

Reeled in on the lines of this poet’s gear
I will dine tonight on these words that spell Y-O-U

ah! "you" is the perfect repetition word in the ghazal for a lover to choose. I love that. And especially I love "the pull of you".
