A Place For The Night

by Razel Davies

Devil mocks me, but,
the Devil is so lonely,
so I share his plight.
Darkened door step,
holds your hopes and,
holds my fears.
So,
when dreams call,
my sultry goddess,
I hold a lantern to,
a darkened door way,
and move on,
my homeless soul,
hoping for a place for the night,
in your warmest heart.
Touch your deepest treasures,
hold your pleasures in my hand,
scented breath I taste,
your kiss so strong,
I fight to stay alive, as,
surely,
happiness can kill.
I bring you near to the end,
but please,
my angelic mate,
don’t leave me,
even in death.

Ultimate and enigmatic. Again at the edge of existence, with desire, passion, the fear of loss. With such a loving gentle, desperate, impossible(?)plea. The holding of the lantern seems tangible.
