fighting the power

by Aaron Michael

it's so much easier to breathe
when you believe you can
dial any number and get a life
delivered like a pizza
sliced to expedite consumption
and topped with anything you can
imagine.

where there is limitation there is
no existence, and i think i see
the fence no matter which way i spin myself
electric and laughing at the futility of trying
jump when i know i can only wait for someone to
open the gates
or i'll only be shocked because
when i'm twitching and convulsing
it's only then i realize how little
my handlers truly care.

and there is only applause for indifference
and conformity and assimilation and propaganda
and no leniency for those who don't eat
what's given.

starve and die or be fed and wish you were.

so much to say and all i can do is
spit shit back at you which starts a war
between a man and a bilion dollar investment,
and in the interest of america it's best if what i say
doesn't get heard

stupidity can only spread if intelligence is taped
and bound and shutthefuckup

until i get my voice back i've nothing to say to you.

"...and in the interest of america it's best if what i say doesn't get heard." Yeah, that's what they want us all to believe. Land of the free. "only then i realize how little my handlers truly care." Good poem Aaron.

I'd like to paint this on the West Wing. Get ready, I'm bringing you with me for my look-out, Aaron. . .

I wish it didn't have to be that way. Seems you're fighting for someone else's "normality" HA!, but those who do, are effectively given a gag order. Become like sheep, follow the pack, total loyalty, and most of all, don't be yourself. Makes me want to puke. Each day is closer to freedom for you, dude.

resistance is futile? i would like to think not, but i'm not a fool. i keep fighting and keep getting knocked down, but i'd rather get knocked to my face than bow...you know? thank you for fighting and getting knocked the %&#$ out.
