Approach by Richard VinceAnother familiar face
Fades into the waning moon,
Her identity remaining
Elusive to my tired
Memory.
I wanted her to smile,
But could only make her
Frown, it seems.
Was my perspective
Darkened by the multicoloured
Lights giving hues to a
Pale ceiling?
Maybe I could have
Succeeded if I had said
What I wanted to say,
But my thoughts never
Became words.
Now I am left with
Only silence, ringing
In my ears, keeping
Me awake, preventing
Me from forgetting what
I never quite remembered.

Posted by Anne Engelen on 08/14/07 at 08:31 AM I love the last stanza I just had to read it over and over again!! I would think almost everyone must have felt like this at least once or twice in his/her life.
Great read. |
