The Riverbank

by Keith D Allison

To look, to gaze, to long
upon the river

To run one's hand
along the muddy riverbank

To put one's find
into a little egg and cornmeal

To let it dance upon the fire
in the seasonings to brings its delight

To lean back, under warm Midsummer Eve
to pondered life wonders

With a little cornbread
and fried catfish

The moon dances upon the water
a song springs forth from the meadows

for a moment
one knows,  life is good

Ahhh the pleasure of the simple in life. You write with a directness and joy of that which perhaps truly gives the most satisfaction in this life.

*Bravo*... to one who not only took the time to do the above, but penned it for all to have that same ability!
