The Riverbank by Keith D AllisonTo look, to gaze, to long
upon the river
To run one's hand
along the muddy riverbank
To put one's find
into a little egg and cornmeal
To let it dance upon the fire
in the seasonings to brings its delight
To lean back, under warm Midsummer Eve
to pondered life wonders
With a little cornbread
and fried catfish
The moon dances upon the water
a song springs forth from the meadows
for a moment
one knows, life is good 08/12/2007 Posted on 08/12/2007 Copyright © 2024 Keith D Allison
