Life's Little Needs

by Jacki M Butler

I need you like the ocean needs the shore
Like the flowers need the rain
And a sailboat needs a breeze.

A wave would be nothing without a place to crash
The flower would wither away without its drink
And the sailboat would remain still if it not for the wind.

You are my safe place to land
The one who nurtures my heart
And keeps me in constant motion.

You are what I need
You are what makes me happy
I need you, and I think you need me too.
