by Matthew Sharp

ive been to what you avoid
i go into the empty forever without a lead line
and i leave pieces of my heart all over it
my claim is willed into offerings of self sacrifice
an altruistic suicide to watch you smile

Yes, I know you've been there... love that second line especially. And the first line, yes! So the smile... can vary. Some may even turn away. Some may tolerate, make a joke. Some may appreciate, admire. (Like me.)
