Wait For Me

by Jersey D Gibson

Long ago I could see there,
with your grace and your smile.
But long it's been, I'm here again,
it's been such a long long while.

When I think of your voice,
I remember all the words you say.
Can't recall how many times,
you told me you loved me every day.

But now I'm gone,
you're all alone;
how much further can I go?

It takes every day,
to get by every day;
all I ask is wait for me...

The sands of time keep leaking down,
when will this hourglass end?
I feel the emptying of my sould,
all the breaks that will not mend.

And after all this time, what I've been through,
can't believe I'm still alive.
I'm trying hard, just for you,
just to keep going, to keep alive!

But here I'm gone,
and you're not here;
how much further can we part?

I see you every day,
every time I close my eyes;
all I ask is for you to wait for me...
