a preface to the next women's revolution.

by Eli Skipp

i know that i am a sailor
in the same way that i know that i am
beautiful:
i will never admit to it.

last night, i made up my mind:
in an effort at making life worthwhile again
i am going to start the next women's revolution
by loving myself.

no truly.
naked,
bloated,
dimpled,
shagged and fagged and fashed.
unfasting, full-fed.

i will do this because we are amazing women.
i will do this because i am not ashamed at being a feminist, and
because we are prettier and
smarter than the men who intimidate us.
and they have no right
no right
no right.

this morning i woke up and admired my flyaway hair,
my big thighs, my little paunch.

i know that i enjoy strong coffee more than i enjoy
trying so hard.

Author's Note: "this is what a feminist looks like." i should stop being so vehement.

this one's terrible. urgh.

psh, i like it! it's got honest emotions in a very readable format, isn't that poetry enough?
