black hat

by Maria Francesca

white hat
or black hat -
depends on the day

I don't really mean them,
the things that I say

or I do if you want me to
don't if you want me to
lay down my life
or I won't if you want me -

I'm losing my way, here
my train's jumped the track;
I've said too much again
and the Stetson's gone black.

good girl
or bad girl
depends on the night

I can talk 'til I'm blue
and it won't come out right

but I'll stay if you want me to
go, if you want me to
lay down with you in the snow
if you want me -

I'm losing my mind, here,
there's no turning back
as the Stetson goes grey
and then fades into black.

This is so awesome! I used to be a hat person (back in the day). Still got my blue and black but gave my white away. My pick for POTD.
