my door is silent today by Peter HsuI.
my door is silent today
so i knock on it
timid
to remember the hollow sound
that company sings
when it comes and goes
drunk on forgetting
remembering just enough
to write itself notes
not to come to my porch
because
my doorstep makes it stumble
and embarrass itself
when i catch it
II.
just as well
i have hands to mend
and crows to listen to
their speech reminds me
i have a life of debt to live
and only myself in payment
today, isolation
to turn my fingers to glass
clarity to show
my heart beats a different color
every day
to drip my bloody currency
into the pale sea
III.
no crying
except for joy
i have given my tears up
to those who need them more
for my smile they have graves
for my voice they have war
so come peace
or else my small happiness
only reaches my door
IV.
what a mind have i
that loves chaos and thinks peace
as serenity dances
and joy thanks love

| Posted by Gabriel Ricard on 08/04/07 at 05:03 AM I'd say so. I really like I. I dunno. It just has a really good delivery. I like the whole thing. But for some reason, that one sticks out the most. |
