A Split Second

by Meagan Green

Listening devices hidden inside the experience of future,
too vague and violent for these hollow concerned ears...
too bright a future for lies such as these I am surrounded with
to become my own by my own accord, and my something far away
in its other distance here and from all the way there.

I can't imagine a something without some sort of mistake
sometimes, and for that, I am surrounded by confusion
and gratefulness for some amount of conclusion that answers
only one question regarding whether or not time goes faster
with each and every faithless year you go on inside individual oblivion.

Lose faith in yourself, lose faith in all the bystanders
standing by just watching nothing as you try to live some life
that is beyond a degree of what they barely think to believe in,
to achieve in the impossible treason that exists in mindless recreation,
but exists solely as the reason we are here today gathering.

We all agree to what we disagree with for the sake of charity,
for the sake of family, and we almost always come back to what
our heart feels and it always screws up gravity if not just for a moment...
a split second when the Earth shakes and then the world takes
your opinion and turns it into something that means something outside of nothing.
