Scene One, Take Ten by Alisa Js
and you cried tears as big as raindrops
For hours you lay there and I leaned forward to dry your eyes
But you turned away,
Laughed instead at what I thought was circumspect
Why bleed the grape for all its worth
Then tell me you love beer?
I ran around in docile down
Frantic for your fears
Rushing fast for Neosporin
While you glared and swore you never touched the stuff
I decided right then and there, I would go
Take my bling and walk right out
But something kept me coming back
And like a boomerang, I'm here
No matter how or why, I try
To convince myself and no one else
A waste of alibis,
Why can't you see or won't you
The truth is blazing fast
Up the lane and through the gut
Through anyone who cares to stop long enough
Tell me why I can't bring myself to think
To stay away
