time is thick, here where
days seem identical, no matter
how i try to see them differ
i can't seem to peel them apart in the heat.

seconds have mated with others to make minutes,
and the orgy never stops,
because they swear the world would end
if they stopped fucking.

when really all we would do
is find another way to define
the space between breaths
until we die.
