Encore Amore

by Alisa Js

and I will try once more to face
the dawning twist of truth in light of broken glass surrounds,
tho' my heart is broken, rather smashed
crushed with weights of circumstance
bleeding,
I still believe ...

beaten back and trampled down
they tried to kill my self respect and courtesy
rob my sense of dignity
threw it in my face
now wet with what I thought for sure were tears
this crimson stain ...

am I wiser now
or is this view nothing more than fragment's badger
and I'm the one who never knew with certainty of what I once believed
hoping here for miracles
longing for a cure
standing in this blinding rain
alone,
but not lonely
and he will come to me on winds of change
until then I wait, holding to this dream
of self respect, sans fears ...

This is one of my favorites of yours Alisa. I hear hope surrounded by the "shattered glass" of lost loves, but never giving up. A very enjoyable reading! Nice flow.
