You may have enemies in
high school but
your worst enemy will always be
yourself
People will tease you
not because they like you
or even because they dislike you
but simply because
they dislike themselves
You cannot reason with them
and most of these people
will never change
Be careful of the paths you take here
because some roads are only
roads of regret
These will be defining moments in
your life
You will define them
and they in turn... will define you
Remember that, it will always be that way
Never apologize for you who are
but do apologize when you
have made a mistake
Seek out true friends and cherish them
Don't waste your time on the others
Try new things now
while you still live under
this roof of security
Because soon you will lose yourself
and many of those chances
to find yourself,
your passions in life,
as you get swept up in the madness
of the adult world
Which contrary to your thinking
is in many ways more
dreary and confining than
the one you are currently in
Make the choice to enjoy
this time of your life
Do not worry if others understand
for many of them lack the capacity
They are already unable to
dream and to grow
and to make changes
that will help them become
who they should be
Be the best person you can be
and forget the rest
for in the end
they are not the ones
who will weigh you
