Born in '54

by Tony Whitaker

Red Wagon
foot draggin’
Flexible Flyer
stitches require
Fab Four
what a bore

Scared teen
Brylcreem
scarred dreams
Vaseline
sex esteem
still lean
the in-between

Mid-life
second wife
work more
life’s a bore
pay bills
no frills

Now it’s late
I can skate
and retire
on fire
live more
D’yer Mak’er
is Jamaica
Fab Four
I adore

You write cogently, directly, succinctly! A lifetime crystallized in a few verses. Retiring in midfifties! That is neat when you have something to occupy your mind and time and the money to do the things you want to do. Best wishes!

I'm sure this is only just one small glimpse...I'd love to see some more glimpses. :-)
