Mourning Coo by Alison McKenzieMourning dove sings
Sunrise coooooo
Sweet into my ears
And sleepy dreamtime
Soft sunshine onto
Sparkling dew drops of music
Sprinkle my heart
Tender in your morning embrace
Burrow deeper into limbs
Love and strong
07/15/2007 Author's Note: Inspired by Tony Whitaker's morning smiles and love for his wife. Hehe. And then it turned into a challenge, and Tony wrote one of his own - CHECK IT!!! http://www.pathetic.org/poem.php?page=library.php&i_memberid=6348&i_poemid=1184509149&i_folderid=1184398911&mode=folder

Posted by Kathleen Wilson on 07/15/07 at 03:33 PM I love especially the mix of things here--the sounds of bird and lover, limbs of bodies and trees, all in the half away dawning day... I wonder if you could make two haiku as an alternate form... from these ideas-- the coooo title suggests it playfully. It might be hard, but you would not need to give up this poem, just use the ideas a little differently in the couple of "cooos". |
