groceries

by Maria Francesca

walked to the grocery store today;
left the car at home
to rest

and walked there and back again.

a cab driver stopped me on the way
asked me my name
in a suggestive manner
gave me his number

and took me for a quick ride
back some years

to when such come-ons were common
and annoying

to when I was certain
that nudity was a very good thing

to when I knew for sure
that the world was all about
me.

it was a fun trip.

but I told him no-thanks
and walked home with my groceries

and a little smile to keep me company.

A trip inside of a single moment. This is very real and amusing!
