Grandstanding by Alisa Jsscratch through these eyes as they're not needed
depthless and trifling are all they see
counterfeit hallows you showed me
worthless and ineffectual trinkets
why did you attempt to wrap that something dross
so shiny with spit
attempting to masquerade as priceless
full of dregs and sick sewage scrapings
of the worst kind
horrific bits sweeping across the horizon
of secret reasons
having nothing to do with the truth
of the heart, soul and mind
you can't hurry love
can't force one's hand
love doesn't bow to grandstanding
or self serving issues
snap and it's done
is that what you think love is?
surely, you jest

Posted by Tony Whitaker on 07/19/07 at 08:39 AM A lot of frustration I felt reading this and I hope this beast will be a feast for the flies! You know how to channel that energy, using words, and I hope nothing else! Thank you Alisa for being so open! |
