Sums of Summer

by A. Paige White

carved sandstone fades
by an overgrown path
forgotten loves

Summer songs
morning glory vines blowing
blue trumpets

Cat ear twitches
a bending silky whisker
summer winds

I especially like the 2nd and 3rd Kus. They are quite clever and alive. They are addictive, aren't they.

the subtle surprising correspondences are moving in all three of these--the fading of sandstone ("forgotten loves")... the "summer songs "and the "blue trumpets" of morning glory... and the intricate observance of the cat's twitching whisker-- respinse to "summer winds". Clear pictures, sensations swirl.
