"Why I Smile/Cry/Laugh/Live"

by Max Phineas

The soft lines of your
face, trace
contours down your skin
smooth crescent smile
and all the while
You can't keep the tears in.

I don't mind,
I found what I've been seeking.
The one whose eyes lock into mine
So we can talk without ever speaking.

Wish I was there
The day you descended
Just glad to be here now.

Now that is deep and perspective means everything. I loved the flow of this fluid piece.

Deliciously penned, balances rhyme without falling from the tightrope. I think the last two lines should be separated more, if only by a period after "descended."

That's really beautiful. I love the rhyme.
