Perspective

by Tony Whitaker

"It’s all in the way you look at things"
a cliché I’ll use anyway
this life is all you’ll ever live
embrace it no matter what you make
happiness will follow those who give
rather from those who take

We all arise from the same mud
destiny rides you back one day
so wear rose colored glasses
and listen
with eyes and ears some God did give
life will fill your cup with joy
and the ability to love
and forgive

Author's Note: I have lived a wonderful life, though much pain and sorrow has filled it. But I know what joy is, more than mere happiness and what a wonderful world it would be if so many more had joy,

rather than hate.

I adore your perspective.

It's good to look into your words and find myself there. This piece reminds me of something my spiritual adviser sent me, "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness." It's a saying I try to bring to the forefront of my mind often. May your joy continue to overflow in your thoughts. Oh, and don't forget to keep sharing them with us! ;-P
