vortex charade

by Matthew Sharp

unit of infinity
crowded in divinity
countless times emptying

just to be full again
from beyond within

poked with a pin

garden fertalized again
burglarized and broken in

the content
so bent
they return
before they ever went

stuck to the blades
of vortex charades

I like the concise quality of this poem, as well as the excellent word choice and elegant rhyming. A commentary on human behavior seems a strong undercurrent here, while it can be also read as a vision of natural forces. The connection and illustrations intertwined make a provocative and lasting impression.
