Hey, Jealousy

by Elizabeth Seago

His laugh is contagious,
But it can't compete with yours.
Your infectious giggle blooms tulips in my heart.
His - dandelions.
They're cute, but really, there's no comparison.

I know this kills you.
That I'll dine with a
Man that isn't you,
But know that
Every flattering word
That escapes his lips,
Can never make me feel
The way yours do.

Know that,
At the end of the night,
As he strategically places
His arm around my waist,
And leans in to kiss
me,
I will turn my cheek,
And fix my glare onto those palm trees
I despise.

Because I want to save
My lips
For the one
They were made for.

Author's Note: Less than a month until I can find a home in your arms. Assface.
