Chris M Williams

by Oliver Drewman

Concieted as the summer day is long
His face rejoices in it's glowing shine
Recorded time has not the room for song,
Inside his head he lives for days of wine
Subsisting on his wits and love of life
Much talk'd are his thoughts of noble men
While all around him prate the mouths of strife
Ingenuous are all the sayings when,
Laughs loud and prideful boastings speaks his heart
Longlasting cuts of denegrating pride
Issuing forth from deepest inward parts
All of his spoken words pent up inside
Meet all the world in scorn and judgement firm
Spout forth the bitter gall and also worm

Author's Note: thanks to Chris for pointing out my rhyming errors and multiple spelling errors as well. This is actually the first Shakespearian sonnet in iambic pentameter and acrostic and the correct rhyming scheme

I'd say you did a pretty damn good job.
