Growing To Know by Jeffrey ParrenYou have this affect on me. I can't turn it off.
I don't think you really understand all that it is to be with me,
since all the jerks before have ruined all of the good that I could ever do.
So I expose my heart more and more,
all that happens is it gets squished and pounded
like a chicken breast ready to be marinated to add flavor.
You don't get it. Maybe if you could crawl in
to see the storm brewing inside, dormant
for some time, yearning for love and emotions,
only to turn black and cold with miserable failure.
I know I am giving you my all, that's the problem.
All you have known is pain from the ones you love
so why would I be any different? I understand that.
I cannot say enough that I am going nowhere,
it is you who needs to trust and open your ears.
Hear what I am saying, and know that I mean it.
Not a second passes without a thought of future
us raising our children and enjoying suncoated days
or earlier our wedding with colors flowing
without extravagence or frills, this is love, not a show.
The man I am destined to be is the one you need.
Destiny and fate are laughing because they are the fish
that managed to swim away in this expedition, our bait
has spoiled in the sundrenched open air of existence,
but our intention and goodness has been replaced
because pasts that haunt are great for horror movies
but this story will end with two people in love and happy,
or at least I will die trying to pen the words for you. 07/08/2007 Posted on 07/08/2007 Copyright © 2024 Jeffrey Parren

Posted by Genevieve Sturrock on 07/09/07 at 12:51 PM as one who was hurt and ended up allowing myself to trust a truly nice guy, i have to say she would be fortunate, in deed, to have your steadfast and true devotion. give her time and she will see. |
