Seek to Find

by Tony Whitaker

Always looking for a sun that shines
Because you are the darkness
Carry me back to another time
Down to the shimmering sands,
Each day I ache to drink your wine.
For I fall under your influence
Go and let me live my life
Help me forget by going.
I am committed to my loving wife
Justly I must walk away.
Kindred spirits we. Our
Love between will
Make us hate.
Now as I turn to
Our old fate,
Perchance in time you’ll
Quick find your mate.
Reach now to find your true “self”
Sobered by your grand illusion.
Then your days of searching end.
Under it all you find a friend
Valued now until the end.
Whose the one of whom I speak?
Xeroxed life shows whom
You seek.
Zero in upon your soul as now I go!

Nicely done, especially as you even kept a rhyme scheme throughout it. Good message too, on the topic of "the other woman".... d:-)
