Ah Well by Ken HarnischAh well
We come to the same end
And for the same reasons
You will find
I take my fate well
And without sugar
I do not stalk,
Nor plead, nor
Make lawyer’s arguments
To continue for
The sake of continuance
Whatever conclusions
You draw of us, and me,
Are yours. I neither ask
For their transmission
Nor care for their intent
I’m sure there’s
Some genuine sadness
There, but there’s also
Tomorrow’s promise
Which I could not provide
And which you assuredly deserve.
The rest of this door and all
Others should be locked wordlessly
So we don’t spill needless
Verbiage on what was,
For that magic hour,
Beautiful and sublime.
Suffices to say: I sincerely wish
You the best.
