longer these things have grown
into a being i cannot identify any longer

and it's what someone told me to do
what they said would work

it isn't enough that you liked that about me
it isn't enough that you said the lilies were perfect

because it's tonight when i sit here packing
realizing how many years i have grown today
because it's tomorrow when you will just watch
forgetting to stick to the list
because it's next week that i hope will bring me an ending
while the lilies begin to decay

it will be longer than we wanted
there are too many to mention
too many to count on 2 hands be
cause
i couldn't allow it to fester
the insatiable desire

it won't afford us any extra luxury

you can water them as often as you like...
