The Terrible Hope

by Jersey D Gibson

Horrible as it may seem
I've lost all faith in you.
Like a late-coming spring
you've let me down again.

Possibly, I'm sorry
yet you've got no conscience.
Without feeling or heart
you've struck me down again.

I hate your promises,
I'm suing for damages.
I've told you once again,
Yet you bring me down again.

Terrible as it may seem
I've lost my heart again.
Like a cold winter wind
blowing right through me.

Certainly, you're sorry
let your lips aren't moving.
Lying smile and deceiving eyes
you hammered me down again.

I despise your promises,
I've suffering damages.
Taking fire once again,
I'm bleeding like a stuck pig.

Eventually it seems
I'm burning with comtempt.
Douse these flames with gasoline
while you stay smiling.

Particularly I'm failing
yet you still lie to me.
Put me down in pieces,
you've put me down again.

I loath your promises,
I'm dead from damages.
Scars show from your surgery,
how much longer will I bleed?
