Fine

by Joe Cramer

So it starts with a conversation,

A little interest, a glance, a smile.

I feel just fine.

Then a hug, perhaps a kiss.

We both begin to share

That precious commodity,

Time.

We both smile.

I feel fine.

More moments shared,

Then a joining of two hearts,

Wedded bliss, maybe another kiss,

Or two, or two thousand.

Conjugal bed, a place to lay my head,

And I feel fine.

More and more conversations,

Hugs, hand holding, walks, talks,

Suddenly our lives are intertwined.

We find

That we are fine.

Beautiful, but it makes me feel a little lonely. Well, my cats love me. ;-)
