Crosshairs

by Jeffrey Parren

and maybe remember please
I haven't had a deep realtionship
going on six long years
so each time my sugar coat machine
turns itself off and I offer brutal honesty
I still won't apologize for saying
what comes to my head
for it is the honesty that seperated me
from the crowd you turned away
but you push me away now
simply because I rationalize
instead of letting you vent
the learning curve is a tiny bell now
since the many buttheads before me
have ruined what my worth is now
so your defensive weapons are locked
and I wear the crosshairs
as fashion daily

Effective use of analogy. Romance can be very vexing if too much manipulation is involved!
