In the Eye of Her Own Storm....

by Sandy M. Humphrey

All she seeks
is peace
That sweet
serene
calm
She can feel
when being
Still though all
Around her
the chaos storm
Rages
thundering
To get
her attention

Like a dragon
with Fiery breath
roaring
In her direction
sparring and jabbing
to engage a reaction
Disrupting and detracting
she just closes her eyes
Picturing a piece of land
surrounded by blue water
where
fire cannot touch her
where
storms fade to sea
where
only she exists
Balanced in a moment
There is peace
as the dragon flies away

Oh Yes! Some days are just like that. Maybe she's surrounded by dragonflies and butterflies and sweet flowers. This is a true definition of serenity. POTD material - this has my vote.

I've had weeks that very much resemble that first stanza. Really enjoyed this.

Peace has its victories no less than war, but it doesn't have as many monuments to unveil. You are right, we have to make our own. Delighted. Thanks.

Hi Sandy, This is beautiful, yet a touch of sadness. Yes, the beauty of peace and calmness. I also agree with Lori and Michelle. And the others as well. Thanks for sharing.

Your message is clear, peace comes from within, not outward circumstances. Simply stated with effective symbolism.
